SHOT 5/29/2003 - The Arkansas River has been called one of the most over appropriated rivers in the United States. The river provides much of the drinking and irrigation water for the area and is also of source of fun for those that run it in white water rafts or kayaks. The City of Golden recently won a court case that affirmed a city's claim for water rights for recreational purposes. A group of white water rafters successfully negotiate the Zoom Flume rapids on the Arkansas River one afternoon.
